Red light devices for hair growth target the wrong wavelengths, which is why they are so slow to work. The 660 nm won't reach hair follicles and the 850 nm bypasses them by penetrating deeper. The MyGreen Hair Growth Hood is the first photobiomodulation device to employ 730 nm red/nearinfrared, the wavelength best aligned to match the human dermal papilla cells (hDPC) absorption spectrum (Cho et al. 2026).
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The MyGreen Hair Growth Hood for Men delivers three wavelengths of light targeting three different layers of the scalp, using a total of 504 narrowband LEDs:
- green 532 nm to target the epidermis and dermis
- red 660 nm to target the dermis, and
- red/NIR 730 nm to target hair follicles
