Adjust Water pH

Maintain water pH between 6.5–7.0 for optimal performance.

  • If pH is below 6.5, add ¼ cup magnesium carbonate directly to the water, allow circulation for one hour, then re-measure pH. Repeat as needed.

  • If pH is above 7.5, add one 2L bottle of seltzer water at a time, allow circulation, and re-measure until pH returns to range.

Add Epsom Salts

Epsom salts help improve ice quality and water performance.

  • Add 4–6 lb of pure magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) evenly into the tub.

  • Keep the filtration system running and allow several hours for complete dissolution.

  • Use only pure salts without fragrances, oils, or additives.

Winter Operation (Outdoor Units)

Prevent freezing during cold weather operation.

  • When outdoor temperatures fall below 40°F (4°C), set the filtration timer to ON.

  • Run the filter pump continuously to keep water moving through the heated filter.

  • Set the ice bath temperature to 40°F as an added precaution.

Winter Shutdown

Safely shut down your ice bath for extended cold periods.

  • Unplug the unit and drain all water from the tub.

  • Remove the filter cartridge, rinse it, and allow it to dry completely.

  • Use towels or a shop vacuum to remove any remaining water from the filter housing.

  • Leave the filter housing slightly open to allow moisture to evaporate.

Basic Setup

Follow these steps when first setting up your ice bath.

  • Begin filling the tub and plug in the unit once water covers the plumbing ports.

  • Set the desired temperature and continue filling until the water level is about 6 inches below the rim.

  • Bleed air from the filter system, turn on the pump, and inspect for leaks.

Cold Exposure Safety

Practice safe cold exposure habits.

  • Exit the ice bath before shivering becomes prolonged.

  • Dry off immediately after exiting the tub.

  • Use light movement, such as walking or gentle exercises, to restore circulation.

Morozko maintains freezing cold temperatures and sanitizes your water without chlorine.  Unlike a cold tub, a cold plunge, or a cold shower, Morozko ice baths make their own ice.  Microfiltration and ozone disinfection ensure crystal-clear cold water, empowering daily cold plunge therapy practice year-round.
