Do Cold Showers Increase Testosterone?

Morozko Forge CEO Thomas P Seager, PhD under a cold shower.

Cold showers are a good way to get started in deliberate cold exposure, but in warm climates like Phoenix AZ, an ice bath is required to keep practicing during the summer.

Studies show that cold showers alone will reduce testosterone in the short term.

However, exercise after deliberate cold exposure reverses the hormonal effect, and boosts both testosterone and luteinizing hormone levels.

The tradition of using an ice bath to recover from exercise is backwards. Instead, use exercise to recover from your ice bath.
